Meet our latest Artist Corner designer, Amanda Holmes, also known as Gracelynn Designs. She’s been in the PosterMyWall family since December 2016, and has been creating her own designs for the past three years. We had a chance to ask her about her experiences. Keep reading to learn more about Amanda!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Amanda Holmes. I currently reside in Center, Texas. I work as the music director and office administrator for our local church.
I love history, and I love to travel. Road trips with the windows down and some good music playing are my favorite. I’m half country girl, half city girl. I find beauty in both the hustle and bustle of the city and the calm and serenity of the country.
What does a typical work day look like for you?
A typical work day for me is teaching music and vocals, answering phones and emails, promoting our church across several social media platforms, and other office administration duties. I stay busy and I love it!
After work I spend my evenings with my family. We cook dinner, talk about our day, watch tv, whatever we feel like as long as it’s together.
Tell us some of your biggest likes and dislikes.
God is number one in my life. I’m thankful for His love and the relationship I have with Him. I’m an avid reader. I love getting lost in a good book. I am a huge sports fan. I’m a very picky eater. Almost all of my pickiness is about texture and not taste. Weird right? There are many foods I like the taste of, but can’t handle the texture. Pizza, Mexican food, and fried pickles are life.
I love action movies and legal thrillers, but I’m a sucker for a good (it has to be good) RomCom every now and then. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite movie. Family is everything to me, and I’m thankful for mine.
What led you to PosterMyWall?
When I was first given the responsibility of managing the social media accounts for our church, I realized immediately that I needed to find a program or website for designing. That is how I found PosterMyWall, and thank goodness I did! This was my first exposure to designing, and I quickly realized that I loved it.
What does your design style look like now?
At first, I just used templates and customized them to my needs. The more I familiarized myself with the process, the more I thought, I can be a designer myself. I started researching. I read articles, watched videos, asked questions, and learned everything I could about designing. I started creating my own designs and never looked back!
I’m still learning, and love using my creative side. I try to make my designs clean looking, and easy to customize. Every customization of one of my designs makes my heart happy!
Who’s your favourite PosterMyWall designer?
I don’t have a favorite PosterMyWall designer. I find them all very talented and inspiring.
