1. Ornament tic-tac-toe

This gift is perfect for the little ones in your life. All you’ll need is a 9 x 9 ornament box and six cute ornaments. You can make your own ornament box too. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A small cardboard box
  • A couple of cardboard flaps
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Wrapping paper

Split one cardboard flap into two and set them aside. Then, cut up the other cardboard flap into six small squares. Now carefully apply glue onto the long side of each split cardboard flap and paste them inside the cardboard box. Next, apply glue on each small cardboard square and paste them inside too until the box is divided into nine equal sections. Place festive wrapping paper around the outsides of the box to make it Christmassy. You can also add stickers, glitter, or whatever else you want.

Let your ornament box dry and then place your ornaments inside the cardboard sections. And that’s it. You’ve created a tic-tac-toe game that the kids can play whenever they want by placing the ornaments in different sections.

Remember to use two sets of ornaments so that each set looks exactly the same.

This gift is for your loved ones with a sweet tooth. It also shows that you put thought and effort into your gift, which will make it even more special. Take a tin box and wrap it with festive tissue or wrapping paper. Place a cute bow and a tiny ornament on the lid.

Next, make the cookies. There are three flavors that you can choose from:

  • Fruit and nut
  • Lemon
  • Chocolate

We recommend picking the one your loved one will like the most. And if they’re just a dessert fan in general, make them all. This is what you’ll need to make your cookies:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • ¾ cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces chocolate
  • Sea salt for garnish

These are extremely easy to make. Find the full recipe here. You should have them ready a day or two before Christmas and keep them refrigerated until it’s time to give them.

3. DIY snow globe

Everyone knows snow globes are the most Christmassy things out there. But store-bought snow globes can seem like a last-minute present. A DIY snow globe, on the other hand, is the perfect way to tell your friends how much you care for them. It’s also an inexpensive option, and so much fun to make.

Here are the things you’ll need to make this:

  • A clean jar with a lid
  • Distilled water
  • Glycerin
  • Tiny figurines of your choice
  • White tinsel glitter
  • Epoxy
  • Sandpaper

Make sure your jar is clean and there are no fingerprints. Scruff up the underside of the lid with sandpaper. Then, paste your figurine on the underside using epoxy. Make your figurine as personalized as possible – perhaps an inside joke or something cute that encapsulates your relationship.

Next, fill up your jar with distilled water and add a drop of glycerin to it. Now add the tinsel glitter. This will be the snow of your snow globe. Once you’ve done this, insert the figurine into the jar and close the lid. Flip it over and voila! You’ve got a beautiful snow globe, perfect for your loved one.

4. Christmas scented candle

Who doesn’t love the smell of Christmas first thing in the morning? You can make that happen with a special DIY Christmas scented candle. Here are some scents that seem Christmassy to us:

  • Cinnamon
  • Snow
  • Vanilla
  • Chestnuts
  • Hot chocolate

Making a scented candle is easier than you might think. You can make your own in no time. You’ll need the following things:

  • 2 kg soy wax or paraffin
  • scented/essential oils in the scent and color of your choice
  • Saucepan
  • Thermometer
  • Candle molds (small glass jar or tin)
  • Spray oil
  • Wicks
  • Hairdryer

Once you gather all your ingredients, the process is simple. Grate your wax into tiny little pieces, then heat it on a medium heat using a saucepan. Make sure the temperature doesn’t exceed 90 degrees (Celsius). Use a thermometer to keep track. Once your wax is melted, add your oils and mix evenly.

Ready your mold in advance. Spray some oil on the inside, and decide the placement of your wick. You can tape the wick to the bottom of the jar and tie the top to a pencil so that it stands. Now, pour in the wax mixture. Use a hairdryer to get rid of air bubbles and make the surface smooth.

And that’s it. Your Christmas scented candle is ready. Decorate the outside of the jar – add the name of the person you’re gifting it to or use colored crepe paper to decorate.
