Looking for the perfect photo for your upcoming social media post? Well look no further, here are some stock photos resources that you need to bookmark.

Stock photos are essential to any modern-day marketer’s arsenal. But finding high-res stock photos that fit your requirements tend to be a tedious task. Images can be used commercially, and need not be attributed, but we’re going to mention their name anyway because they’re awesome.

500px is a large community-based stock website. Professional photographers can sign up, share their content and earn here. Hence, there is a wealthy range of stock photos that can be searched.

You will be required to sign up (for free) before you can use their stock graphics.

Most of the photos aren’t free and have attribution license requirements. Normally you need to purchase and attribute the photos that you use. No membership necessary. 

4. Death to Stock Photo

Death to Stock Photo, despite the very brutal and ironic name, was a project started by 2 photographers David and Allie, when they realized the world of bloggers, artists and brands needed more images that fit their “vibe and tribe”. 

You can subscribe to their email list (not for free), and they will send you photo packs along with writing prompts (if you’re into that). They also offer premium membership of $15 or $59 a month, depending on your company size. This gives you access to all of their media, including a huge number of photo packs with high quality images. Some of the money is used on photography trips, so the website can continue to provide high quality stock photos. View their terms of use here.

5. Life of Pix

Life of Pix provides high resolution free stock photos, free of cost, and don’t require attribution. They can be used for personal and commercial use. The Photos are provided by Leeroy Advertising Agency in Montreal and a large network of Photographers. View their terms of use here.

6. Public Domain Archive

When you check out Public Domain Archive, “New 100% Free Stock Photos. Every. Single. Week.” is the first thing you read, and it’s definitely caught our attention. 

FREE high quality stock photos are available, with no attribution required. They also offer premium membership for only $10, giving you bulk downloads and removes pesky ads.

7. Gratisography

Gratisography has one of the strangest and most creative stock photo collections out there. Photos are by Ryan McGuire – they’re free of attribution, download as you please, and use them for commercial or personal use (CC0). 

You can search for images, which are also conveniently divided into categories for easy exploration. You’ll find a wide range of AI generated stock content as well. You’re not required to log in to download content.

This collection is unique in its own right. Seriously, go check it out now. 

8. StockSnap.Io

StockSnap.io provides high-res images free of attribution (CC0), as well as free downloads. The website is well designed, so navigation is super easy, and bonus: you can also find out the most downloaded stock photos by clicking on the trending section.

You’re not required to log in to download content.

Freeimages has a huge archive of free and purchasable stock photos. You can search for all kinds of stock photos here, though you will find a rather large range of landscape photos. You need to register to this website to download images. Registration is free

Apart from the beautiful website design, Magdeleine provides high resolution stock photos of all kinds, simplifying your search. A really cool feature about this website is that you can look for images based on their dominant color.

There are images of CC0 license, and also CC1 images(which require attribution), so check the image’s license before downloading to check whether it requires attribution.  

12. Freerange

Freerange has a large number of stock photos, compiled by a mix of in-house photographers and a growing community of contributors.

ISO Republic provides over 1000 high resolution images, aimed especially for WordPress themes and web templates for bloggers, teachers, web developers and other professionals. Images can be used for personal and commercial, and attribution isn’t needed but appreciated.

You can also subscribe to their email list for free photos every month. 

16. Picjumbo

Picjumbo provides high resolution stock photos for free personal use and commercial use. They have a large variety of stock photos, and the website provides you curated content on the front page in the form of albums such as “The Best of Free Images” and “Random Images”.

Morguefile offers over 350,000 stock photos for free for commercial use. The website doesn’t offer as many categories as sites like Gettyimages or Flickr, but it does a good job of providing decent quality stock photos.

Burst, powered by Shopify is free stock image library built with small businesses, ecommerce stores, designers and bloggers in mind. The images can be used for commercial purposes, including offline uses (such as billboards) and personal projects. You can download high-res and low-res versions of the stock graphics for free.

123RF has a large gallery of a wide range of stock photos and AI generated stock graphics. However, this site does not provide free stock photos. You can register on the site (for free), but most high quality images come with a fee, as well as attribution requirements

They also offer AI generation tools and unlimited free downloads if you choose to try their PLUS plans.

It’s licensed under CC0, so the images can be used for personal and commercial projects, and attribution isn’t required. Follow their Instagram page, it will definitely improve your Instagram feed.

Pikwizard is a free stock photo site with over 100,000 high-quality images and videos. 20,000 of these are completely exclusive to the site. Pikwizard stands out from the rest with its high-quality images of people, which can be hard to find on other stock websites. No attribution required!
